When I received my monster mill with hardened steel rollers, the first thing I noticed was how much more heavy duty it was. They second thing I noticed is that I could mill 40# of grain in no more than 23 minutes (if that). My barley crusher was a ford pinto compared to the lamborghini that is my monster mill.

4. The hopper holds close to 10 LBS of grain and mill does do a great job of milling grains quickly. Finally, if you are a BIAB brewer and looking for higher efficiency I do not recommend this mill. I started with a Corona mill, then upgraded to a Barley Crusher. Eventually, the Barley Crusher wouldn't crush, it just spun and wouldn't grab grain, so I upgraded to a 3 roller MonsterMill. It is definitely the best of the 3.

Mills do not make beer, malted barley does. Buy a Corona mill for less than 25 and spend the difference on grains. The Corona mill works very well for BIAB and can easily be motorized with an electric drill. Honestly if doing BIAB, it's hard to argue with this.

Most grain mills come with a hand crank. Removing the crank arm exposes the shaft which usually fits into the chuck of a power drill.

Years ago I bought a Barley Crusher Malt Mill. It's the only one I've purchased so I don't have a comparison. Still works perfectly. I've read that the gap will slip on some of the cheaper ones. I have a barley crusher brand 2 row mill. I've been having some issues getting it to mill recently.. I adjust the gaps, fiddle with it a bit and eventually it starts pulling grain. I brew 10 Gals at a time, probably average 10 brews a year. I do brew with a bit of wheat, but it is always mixed in. Usually 2535 lbs of grain, no corn etc..
